With the original sleeves, it was difficult to put anything other than a 25lb and a 10lb plate on the vest... the locking collar was barely on... now with these sleeves, I have a lot more flexibility to put on a 25, 10, 5, 2.5 and a 1.25 and still have room to secure the locking nut.
This flexibility also allows me to use 25lb plates more often. Why this is important is because I have difficulty with larger plates because they cover the loops that the straps go through and it is more difficult pull the straps through because the larger plates sit on too of the loops:
With the 25s, they are not covered and I can secure my straps more easily.
