Best Weighted Vest Ever!!

I ordered this vest hoping to do weighted pull ups, and it is so convenient to adjust the weight! It’s definitely one of my best purchases. I have no regrets, and I will be using this vest for many years to come!

Nice Vest

I've had the Kensui vest for 42 days now. Since the day I bought it, the Kensui team has been hounding me to review the product but I wanted to at least use it first to get an idea of how I liked it. I mainly purchased it to help stimulate leg growth.

I seamlessly mixed it into my workout routine. I'm somewhat of a small guy so I bought the 110 lb rated vest. It's a nice comfortable fit for my frame and easy to get the weights on/off and on/off my body. I have read other reviews about people having difficulty getting heavier weights on/off. I do see where that might start to get troublesome or time consuming. Imagine a life jacket with weights strapped to it. It is very strong and can easily support the weight but it's flimsy. You'll manage. So far I've only used lighter plates on front and on back to get used to it and that has been no problem. If I were to use a 45 lb plate on front and back I might be saying otherwise but when that day comes, I'll figure it out.

I use it on squat days to lower the amount of weight on the actual bar. It actually works two fold as it helps distribute the weight away from my shoulders (places it more on your core body), and the vest itself acts as a cushion for the Olympic bar (if you have wussy shoulders like me). It also allows me to carry lighter dumbbells for lunges. It's probably psychological but instead of focusing on the heavier weights pulling my arms down or on my shoulders, I can focus more on my legs. I love it in that regard.

One thing I DID notice is that it is a little rough on the shoulder/neck muscles when wearing for a longer duration. It is difficult for me to wear it the entire workout as there is strain on my shoulder muscles for some reason. I thought it wouldn't be a problem but I figure I'm constantly straining to hold my shoulders up. Using it for a mile long walk proved to be great on the legs but my neck and shoulders were wore out at the end of the walk. Lighter weight seems to be better for that type of activity. I was shocked at how easily just 10 extra pounds feels on the legs on those walks too. It holds up easily in the rain (poured on the walks) and seems to weather well so far. Jogging is possible with light weights and it's not uncomfortable. It doesn't jump around, hit you in the face, mess with your jogging momentum, or anything like that as the vest is as snug as you pull the straps.

I haven't used it for pull-ups, push-ups or anything else other than what I've described so far but that will be on the horizon. I give the vest a high rating as it's doing exactly what I wanted it to do for my training so far. If it weren't for my shoulders being so fatigued from wearing it long term, I'd wear it all the time and give it a perfect rating. I bought it to reduce the amount of weights being applied to my shoulders when lifting weights and so far it has done that. Wasn't expecting it to be so comfortable where I'd want to wear it more often. That's about my only "complaint" but that is probably not an issue for most. It's may seem like an expensive purchase to some but I assure you it's a pretty good investment.

Great product however Velcro stap needs to be a bit longer for wider chest people.
